Curriculum Plan

This long-term curriculum plan for Junior Cycle provides a broad overview of the different disciplines to be addressed and associated timescales. At Junior Cycle level there is an emphasis placed on sketchbooks and primary sources using the five elements throughout the three strands of art, craft, and design. The forty-five learning outcomes can be met through the various plans that I have illustrated below. The plan found below, documents visually and descriptively how students will experience a range of different mediums in advance of their CBA’s. The content included may change depending on the needs of individual schools and students. My two placement experiences have equipped me with a flexible and organised approach to planning a curriculum around the school year. Visiting artists, class outings, art competitions and an exhibition will be incorporated into the school year to give students a more authentic and rich learning experience.
