Professional Profile

I completed my undergraduate degree in Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, Centre for Creative Arts and Media in 2017 where I achieved a second-class honours grade in a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art.

While teaching art has been my main ambition since I was in Secondary School, I also did an intensive course with Bridge Mills Galway Language Centre and received a Certificate in English Language Teaching (CELT) in 2018 which is accredited by ACELS. I achieved four distinctions in assessed teaching practices which focused on listening, speaking, functions, reading and writing.

Upon completion of the CELT course, I started working for Atlantic Language School Galway in 2019 where I taught both adults and adolescents aged 12-16. This time teaching English really made me confident in my teaching ability and strengthened my desire to become an art teacher.

That same year I applied to Limerick School of Art and Design and have now just completed the Professional Master of Education in Art and Design with Digital Media (2019-2021). I am now a newly qualified art teacher hoping to begin my career teaching in a post-primary school where I can continue to improve and develop my teaching practice.
